Pre-heat oven to 350 levels F (180 levels C). Line two 9-inch (23-centimetres) round cake pans a treadmill 9x13-inch (23 x 33 centimetres) rectangular baking pan with parchment paper. Grease the paper and also the sides from the pan well.
Inside a large mixing bowl, by having an electric mixer, beat sugar and eggs together until slightly thickened, about one minute. Add flour, milk, oil, baking powder, and vanilla and beat for an additional minute, just before the batter is smooth and creamy. Don't overbeat. Pour batter in to the prepared baking pan(s).
Bake in pre-heated oven for thirty to forty minutes or before the tops are golden along with a toothpick poked into the middle of the layer arrives clean. (Just one rectangular pan will require longer to bake than two round ones.) Release the edges from the cake in the pan having a thin knife, then come out onto a rack and remove the paper. Let awesome completely before covering with frosting.
